The Story
I've been a designer my whole career, but I became a strategist by working with businesses that needed more than good-looking work — they needed results. The distinction matters. One produces deliverables. The other produces outcomes.
Douglas Fisher Creative opened in 2005 in Orange County — a one-person consultancy built on the belief that small businesses deserve the same level of craft and strategic thinking that big brands pay agencies millions for. Twenty years later that belief hasn't changed, and neither has the standard.
The range of the work has always been wide by design. I've directed brand campaigns for action sports companies and designed print systems for nationwide distribution networks. I've built video production pipelines for universities and directed the first live-streamed graduation in a major school district's history. I've rebranded retailers who saw a 300% increase in foot traffic and driven Google Ads campaigns that hit a 26% click-through rate. Every one of those projects made the next one sharper.
The consultancy runs parallel to everything else — it never stopped. Through employed roles in education and nonprofit, through a cross-country move, through an industry that keeps changing underneath everyone's feet. The clients have stayed. The work has stayed. Orange County is home again, and this is where the next chapter starts.
"The work is always in service of something bigger than the deliverable."
